This game saw a brief beta testing phase back in June and Ubisoft’s been pretty quiet about the game until now. Granted, there were some posts across social media about the game since then.
Now, you can download and play Wild Arena Survivor today
The Android app itself weighs in at just under 900MB on Android, so you’ll want to take that into account if you’re low on storage. That’s not too bad compared to other games that are gigabytes. The gameplay is pretty straightforward. It takes inspiration from other battle royale games, but it ultimately maintains its own identity. When you start a round, you’re jumping out of a ship like other battle royale games, but that’s one of the few similarities. Once you land, you’ll start to see where this game walks off of the beaten path. For starters, it has an isometric camera angle, and that’s different from Fortnite, PUBG, Apex Legends, and others. It’s a nice change of pace. A major mechanic of other battle royale games is the mad dash to collect weapons when you land, but with Wild Arena Survivors, you have your weapons when you land. The weapon you have depends on the character you select for the round.
Core gameplay
Of course, the main objective of the game is to eliminate the competition and be the last one standing. However, as you play, there are some other tasks you can perform. You’ll see items like trees and rocks that you can break to gather resources. No, it’s not like Fortnite where you use them to craft forts. You gather resources to upgrade your weapons and items. Your weapons start off on a low level each round, and you use the resources to level them up. What’s a battle royale game without crates? Scattered throughout the stage are crates that you can open up for goodies. You can either weapons or support items. Also, each chest comes with health orbs and resources. Speaking of health, you heal yourself by defeating enemies, finding health orbs in crates, and breaking trees and rocks. It’s a lot different from finding health kits in the other battle royale games. Overall, Wild Arena Survivor is a battle royale game, but Ubisoft was able to make this game distinctive and unique. It’s simple, straightforward, and easy to pick up. You can get the game today for free, but there are in-app purchases. They mainly revolve around the battle pass, crates, and gems. However, the micro-transactions don’t get in the way of the gameplay.
