It was frustrating not being able to post some pictures of your vacation alongside a video. Sure, you’d be able to use a tweet thread, but engagement is likely to fall off after the first tweet. Not too long ago, we got the news that Twitter was looking to fix that. Now, you can consider it fixed. The company just announced that you’re able to add different forms of media in a single tweet. You’re able to mix and match pictures, GIFs, and videos in a tweet. Not only that, but you can add more than one of each type. Before, you could only add more than one photo. Now, you’re able to add up to four of each type of content. Adding multiple types of media isn’t any different from adding more than one image. First, start composing your tweet and tap on the image icon. Then, you’ll be able to add the pieces of media you want. When you add the media, depending on how many pieces you add, it will either show up side-by-side or on a grid. This feature is now available for both the Android and iOS versions of the Twitter app.
There’s another big coming to Twitter
This is a nice feature for the platform, and it’s something that should tide some people over until the next big feature. The platform is gearing up to let people edit their tweets. Right now, it’s reserved for people who use Twitter Blue. Eventually, the company is going to trickle the feature down to average users. When you post a tweet, you’ll have up to 30 minutes to edit it. When you do, the edited tweet will have a link back to the original tweet so that people can see what you wrote first. We’re not sure when this feature will come out, but it shouldn’t be too long now.
