Introduced on the Galaxy Buds Pro early last year, the 360 Audio feature adjusts the direction of audio according to your head movements, allowing for an immersive, theater-like sound experience. This feature works best with audio files built for 360 degrees.
Samsung finally rolls out 360 Audio to Galaxy Buds 2
Although the Galaxy Buds 2 launched much after the Galaxy Buds Pro, the former lacked the 360-degree Audio feature out of the box. We expected Samsung to introduce the feature with a software update. It has now, albeit a bit later than expected. Galaxy Buds 2 are also receiving a few more enhancements with the latest update. The changelog mentions improvements to audio quality during calls but doesn’t provide much detail. The new software package also brings improvements to Bluetooth connectivity and the overall stability of the device. This should allow for a better user experience with lesser connectivity issues. The latest update for the Galaxy Buds 2 is a 3MB OTA (over the air) download and comes with firmware version R177XXU0AVC8 (via Reddit). The OTA package is already available in several parts of the world. The remaining few markets should also get it soon. The Galaxy Wearable app on your connected smartphone should notify you of the update once available. You can also manually check for updates by navigating to the Earbuds settings menu and tapping Earbuds software update. If there’s no update available, check back again later.
Samsung may launch a new Galaxy Buds model this year
The Galaxy Buds 2 are the latest TWS earbud offering from Samsung. Launched in August last year, these buds arrive as the sequel to the original Galaxy Buds launched back in March 2019, in name at least. There have been three more models between them — Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, and the aforementioned Galaxy Buds Pro. Samsung is now expected to launch a new pair of TWS earbuds later this year. There haven’t been many rumors about this yet but we might start hearing something in the coming weeks. If the company follows a yearly launch cycle, the new Galaxy Buds model should arrive in August. Perhaps alongside the fourth-gen Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip foldables. We will keep you posted.
