The Galaxy A series has been a staple for Samsung’s mid-range and budget line-up. And the follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy A52, the Galaxy A53, appears alongside the long-expected S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 in leaked promotional materials. Specifically, with those devices shown as handsets that the new tablet can connect to via USB-C.
What can be expected from the Samsung Galaxy A53 and A33, if leaks are correct?
The predecessor to the new Galaxy A series handset has made several appearances on the Android Headlines list of best affordable devices. Namely, the Samsung Galaxy A52. And that’s not without good reason. the purported addition to the series doesn’t appear to be cutting any corners either. That’s if the expectations set by the leak are accurate. Of course, not all of the specs have been leaked, either. But reports do point to some noteworthy changes for this entry in the series. Not least of all, while the company is reportedly removing the headphone jack from the lineup, specifically with the Galaxy A53, it’s also aiming to make them more durable. Particularly where ingress protection is concerned. The handset will reportedly come in a 6.5-inch format with an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate display panel. That display panel will be AMOLED and feature an under-display fingerprint reader. But will also be packed into a frame that’s IP67 water and dust-resistant. Conversely, the front and rear cameras won’t reportedly change much. The selfie snapper will be a 32-megapixel sensor in a punch-hole-style cutout. The rear snappers will be led by a 64-megapixel wide-angle shooter if current leaks are accurate. And that will be accompanied by 21-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel macro, and 5-megapixel depth sensors.
So what else is expected to be new with this handset?
Beyond the basics, Samsung is expected to offer 6GB and 8GB variants of the device on the RAM side. With 128GB or 256GB expandable storage on that front. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy A53 will reportedly only ship in a 5G configuration. Whereas the Galaxy A52 came with support for either next-gen networking or 4G, depending on the variant purchased. A renewed focus on battery life will also reportedly be in play. Samsung is opting for a 5,000mAh battery with up to 25W fast charging, according to reports.
