Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Tab S7 get One UI 4.1.1
Debuting on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 last month, One UI 4.1.1 is the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android software. The new version has already rolled out to the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 series. The company is now seeding it to a few more devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Tab S7 series are getting Android 12L with One UI 4.1.1. The new firmware version for the former is F926NKSU1DVH9. The firmware number for the Galaxy Tab S7 is T870XXU2CVH3 and the Galaxy Tab S7+ is T970XXU2CVH3. The updates come with the August security patch. But more importantly, we have a bunch of new features tailored to the big screens of these devices. Most notably, Android 12L adds a persistent taskbar to the bottom of the screen. Like on a computer, the taskbar lets you easily switch between apps without having to go back to the app drawer or the recent apps screen. You can pin up to six apps to the taskbar, while Samsung also shows the two most recently used apps. This feature will enhance productivity and multitasking while working on the go. Furthermore, One UI 4.1.1 lets you create app pairs to quickly open in split screen mode. You can also drag any app on top of an active screen and switch to split screen mode with ease. These app pairs can be pinned to the taskbar as well. Other key features include the ability to extract and share text from images, new multitasking gestures, improved My Files, improved Edge Panel, new emojis and emoji pairs in the Samsung Keyboard, and custom call backgrounds for individual contacts.
More Galaxy devices will receive this update
Samsung will roll out the One UI 4.1.1 update to more Galaxy devices. The company has confirmed that the new One UI version will make it into the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, and the original Galaxy Fold. It may even roll out to the Galaxy S21 series. Of course, those Android 12L-specific features designed for bigger screens will not be found in the One UI 4.1.1 package for the Flip series foldables and other regular smartphones. We will let you know when these updates arrive.
