Google released Android 13 Beta 3 on June 8. It introduced a few new features and changes such as a thicker gesture navigation bar and a customizable battery widget. The new release also fixed several known bugs, though a few still exist. However, Beta 3 somehow removed the Android Beta Feedback app from the devices of some users. Since the whole point of these public betas is to test the new software package among users and collect feedback on bugs, the Feedback app missing wasn’t ideal. It’s the platform where users can report bugs, request features, and leave any other feedback. Thankfully, Google was quick to address it. Android 13 Beta 3.1 started rolling out just a couple of days later, on June 10, to restore the app.
Android 13 Beta 3.1 is available to all compatible Pixel devices
If you have enrolled your Pixel phone ( Pixel 4, 4 XL, 4a, 4a 5G, Pixel 5, 5a, Pixel 6, or 6 Pro) into the Android 13 beta program, Beta 3.1 should be available to you over the air (OTA). According to a screenshot shared by Android Police, the new release weighs just 6.31 MB and comes with the build number TPB3.220513.017.B1. But if you haven’t received the incremental update package yet, you may download the full OTA image for your Pixel from here and manually flash it on the phone. The changelog for the Android 13 Beta 3.1 update doesn’t mention anything notable. Google’s official release notes also only mention the addition of the Android Beta Feedback app. So there’s not much else to look forward to. The company says the know issues on Beta 3 exist on Beta 3.1 as well. Well, we weren’t expecting it to fix those issues in just two days either. Nonetheless, Android 13 is nearing its stable release. Google has ironed out most of the bugs and should get done with the remaining few shortly. In all probability, we will get one last beta update before the stable version hits eligible Pixel units this fall. Other Android OEMs should also soon start beta testing their custom software skin based on Android 13. Well, OnePlus has already opened an Android 13 developer preview program for the OnePlus 10 Pro. The likes of Samsung and Xiaomi should be getting ready too. We will keep you posted.
