The dual-pane view is a feature for the Keep app that allows users to “browse Keep notes on the left side of your screen while editing content on the right side.” It is a very practical add-on and gives the sense of having two screens simultaneously. Students who use tablets for studying can find the feature very useful.
The dual-pane view may also come to the Google Keep website
The future is now available through version 5.22.452.00.90 of the Google Keep app. You can check the Play Store to see if the update is available for your device. The source says they could install the update on a Galaxy Tab S8. It was also previously spotted on Chromebook running the Android app. Of course, your device should meet certain qualifications to receive the feature. As per Google’s announcement, “Dual pane is available if your device screen is >840 dp and you use the Google Keep app in landscape mode.” Most foldable devices are eligible to get the dual-pane view. While the dual-pane view is just rolling out to Android tablets and rollables, we also expect to see it on the Google Keep website. Google Keep has received several great updates in the last few months. One of which was an updated keyboard shortcut that Google claims brings a better alignment with the web experience. You can open the navigation drawer and scroll down to “Keyboard shortcuts” to access the full list. Google has also made other changes to the Keep app to improve its functionality. For example, you now have a expand/contract button in the “Search your notes” field that allows for switching between Full screen and Dual pane.
