What is this app?
Samsung’s phones have some of the best cameras you can get on a smartphone nowadays. This is thanks to the software that processes the images. However, Samsung, following the footsteps of Sony, has developed a pro app with additional features to help with photography. While the main camera app has a pro mode with features and settings to help adjust your image, the Expert RAW app has additional features to help you get a more professional shot. For starters, you’re able to shoot in RAW format. That’s extremely useful if you plan on editing your photos. Samsung launched the app last year for the Galaxy S21 phone. In February 2022, the company announced that the app was coming to more phones in the future including the then-upcoming Galaxy S22 phones.
Now, Expert RAW is coming to the Galaxy Z Fold 3
According to Android Central, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 can now download the Expert RAW app. Earlier in the year, Samsung unveiled a timeline for what devices would get the app and when. The timeline indicated that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would get Expert RAW in April, so it’s a bit later than expected; better late than never. If you want to use the Expert RAW app, you can download it for your Galaxy Z Fold 3 now from the Galaxy Store. The app weighs in only at just over 49MB.
Other phones are still getting the app
In the aforementioned timeline, Samsung outlined the other devices that will pick up the update later on this year. The Z Fold 3 along with the S22 and S21 already have the app. So, if you have either one of those phones, you can get the app However, they’re not the only phones getting the app. If you own a Galaxy S20, a Galaxy Note20, or a Galaxy Z Fold2, then you can expect the app to land for your device before the first half of the year is out.
