The Bluetooth SIG listing comes courtesy of stufflistings on Twitter (via), revealing only the LTE variants of the new smartwatch. However, it’s likely that the manufacturer will also offer Wi-Fi-only models of the VivoWatch 5. Apart from bearing the model number HC-B05L, this listing doesn’t reveal much about the new smartwatch. But rumors suggest that it could offer a circular dial coupled with a bunch of health-oriented features and GPS. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the ASUS VivoWatch 5 in due course of time.
The company’s last wearable was the VivoWatch SP in early 2019
For those unaware, the VivoWatch SP was a fitness tracker with features like ECG and PPG on board. Thanks to the ASUS HealthConnect App, the wearable was also capable of providing personalized fitness tips to the users. It seems like the VivoWatch 5 will go a step further and also offer the capabilities of a modern-day smartwatch.
ASUS is relatively busy in the smartphone industry with new product launches and detailed update schedules for its devices. Phones like the ZenFone 8 and the ZenFone 8 Flip will reportedly get the new Android 12 update by December 2021. Meanwhile, phones like the ROG Phone 5 and Phone 5S will have to wait until Q1 2022. Last month, the company started enrolling ZenFone 8 users into the Android 12 beta program. More recently, ASUS started recruiting beta testers for the ZenFone 8 Flip. First announced in May this year, the ASUS ZenFone 8 made its U.S. debut in late June. The phone features a 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a powerful Snapdragon 888 5G chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 128/256GB storage options. There are dual cameras on the back with a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor. The phone also has a 12-megapixel selfie camera. Customers will also find an under-display fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, and a 4,000 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. Perhaps the most exciting attribute of the phone is its $629.99 price tag, undercutting several flagships in the segment. The ZenFone 8 Flip is yet to make it to the U.S.
